Total Kaos Announces Carbon Neutral Status

Been a long time in coming.

It has taken a lot of hard work and more sacrifice than Dave and I would like to admit, but our certification has finally come through.

Not without a few hitches along the way, however.

There was Dave’s refusal to replace the station’s two-ply atmosphere destroying rolls of extra absorbent Angel Soft with the more green friendly single squares.

The battle with the local zoning board before we could install the 16 eighty foot wind turbines and environmentally neutral battery house needed to run our 8 bulb CFL lighting system.

The writing of our apology to the “other countries” for our thoughtless driving of SUVs, our gluttonous eating of what we want, and of course our keeping the station at 72 degrees.

The removal of all our brand new flat screen TVs and their proper disposal.

Installing sound-absorbing acoustical panels on the exterior walls of Dave’s office to mute that annoying kicking and screaming sound.

But finally, all is well. Green International, an award winning carbon offset company and leader in its industry, has certified Total Kaos as carbon neutral. We got a certificate and everything.

For only a small yearly fee, Green International’s program offsets all our remaining carbon footprint. Our personal representative sat down with us and went over our plan and answered all our questions. She was so polite and knowledgeable.

In order to offset, Green International will be planting 2 acres of eucalyptus saplings in Brazil. Once they remove those inefficient old growth trees standing in the way, our saplings will go right in. We can’t wait for the pictures.

But, of course, nothing we do can go without some amount of controversy. It seems there is a hate website, Mean International, that has Green International, and thus Total Kaos, in their malicious little sights. They claim that our certification is invalid and that G.I. is not even a real company. How often we see the damage that groups of sad, small people with too much time on their hands would wish to create. We would ignore their pettiness if it weren’t for the slurs they have made against us at their amateurish web site. So this is for you Mean International, “You guys suck.” There we said it.

But this post is not about haters. It is about Total Kaos and our finally stepping up to do our part for a clean, temperate, sustainable future for the plant and animal life on this planet. And Dave wants me to put, “For the people, too.” He just doesn’t get it.

Nationalized Legal Representation

Posted on July 2nd, 2008 by Glen.

There is a silent crisis stalking the cities and countryside of 21st century America. An emergency more immediate than some distant future climactic apocalypse. A cataclysm more far reaching than 40 million medically uninsured. A tragedy more personal even than the right to marry or bear arms. An injustice so dire, so clandestine that we have dared not speak its name.
Until now.

-In 2001 legal fees constituted 2.04% of the U.S. GDP. Which means “that the average American family of four paid a “litigation tax” of nearly $2,900 in increased prices for products and services.

-In 1997, more than 15 million lawsuits were filed in state courts—one every two seconds.

-The average person is more likely to end up in court than in the hospital, and yet most people have hospitalization plans, but not a plan for legal services.

-In the case against tobacco alone “in Mississippi, 12 law firms were awarded $1.4 billion in fees and expenses” and “$775 million in legal fees” went “to five Massachusetts firms”. In fact, “Lawyers fees allowed so far in 12 states total $8.95 billion”.

-Sixty U.S. senators have law degrees.

-At the beginning of the 102nd Congress in January, 1991, 244 of the 535 members of both houses (46%) claimed attorney as their profession.

These numbers are simply astounding. And some are over 10 years old. Could anyone honestly argue that these numbers have declined in the intervening years?
There is a crisis in America today. It is not the price of gas, nor Global Warming, nor gay marriage.
The crisis we as Americans face is Big Law.
Big Law with its windfall profits, often at the expense of the little guy. Big Law with its unacceptably massive, growth zapping drain on our national economy. Big Law with its “litigation tax” on nearly all our products and services. Big Law with its stranglehold on both Houses of Congress.
Truly though, is it really wise to allow our Constitutional “right to counsel” to be entrusted to something as unpredictable as the Capitalist system? The 6th Amendment touches on the “right to counsel” by giving every American the right to “counsel for his defense” in criminal prosecutions. Does one really believe that our founding fathers did not wish this right to hold sway in  the civil sector as well? And moreover, should not all rights be protected from the corrupting power of money?
In today’s legal climate, a single lawsuit is often enough to send a individual or small business to the brink of bankruptcy. And not only the losers, but the winners, as well. Legal fees for either litigant often reach into the five or six figures.
Divorcing mothers are frequently impoverished due to enormous lawyer fees. Left, as single mothers, to fend for themselves in a patriarchal uncaring society.
Many of our elderly, poor and destitute, cannot afford the services of an attorney. Their remaining lives and even the instances and preferences of their deaths are then left to the whims of faceless elderly-care providers.
Americans, without the assets to procure an attorney or the wherewithal to do it for themselves, often go through life without such essentials as prenuptial agreements, leases, and other simple contracts.
The rich can easily absorb these costs, but woefully most Americans are suffering.
So what can be done?
Lack of health insurance affects 40 million Americans, lack of legal insurance affects us all. The “right to counsel” is promised by the 6th Amendment to every American. Should not every American enjoy that rightSurely, free of charge?
Surely, it is time we nationalized legal representation. In order to make it affordable for all. In order to bring it into alignment with Progressive priciples. In order to assure its quality.
Tom Daschle, a leading Democrat of the past once stated, “You don’t professionalize until you federalize.” Every American deserves the superior representation that such a socialized legal representation system would promise.
It should be of no surprise to anyone that none in our Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches have proffered such an idea. They are nearly all lawyers. They stand to lose billions. Obviously, we cannot expect much help from the politicians. That said, the nationalization of legal representation will need to be a grass roots effort.
Still, there are groups who are willing to help. Groups such as Justice in Justice, a non-partisan, carbon neutral organization as certified by Green International(greeninternational.us). Their efforts in community organizing and policy analysis have earned them high esteem in the activist community. Known for their unending battles for fairness and equality, they are bringing their expertise to the realm of justice. They can be reached at justiceinjustice.us.
But the real heroes here, if there are to be heroes to be had, will be individual Americans. Those Americans who are tired of the status quo. Tired of politicians pandering to Big Law. Tired of the inequality of legal representation. Tired of the unfairness inherent in a system of cheap hack lawyers and high legal fees.
We as individuals can talk of the unfairness to our family and friends, coworkers, and business contacts. We can mass e-mail our contact lists with essays on inequality of representation and access. We can blog on the lack of quality in a Capitalist run system. And we can contact the media and write letters to the editor pointing out the promise of the 6th Amendment and how it has been usurped by lawyer politicians.
Americans are suffering. It is time we worked to end their misery. Nationalized Legal Representation is a great way to start.

“EXPOSED” Example

Storm Brewing for William Gray

By pioneering the science of seasonal hurricane forecasting and teaching 70 graduate students who now populate the National Hurricane Center and other research outposts, William Gray turned a city far from the stormy seas into a hurricane research mecca.

But now the institution in Fort Collins, Colo., where he has worked for nearly half a century, has told Gray it may end its support of his seasonal forecasting.

But Gray, a highly visible and sometimes acerbic skeptic of climate change, says that’s a “flimsy excuse” for the real motivation — a desire to push him aside because of his global warming criticism.

“Bill Gray has come under a lot of fire for his views,” said Channel 11 meteorologist Neil Frank, a former director of the National Hurricane Center and a friend of Gray’s. “If, indeed, this is happening, it would be really sad that Colorado State is trying to rein in Bill Gray.”

Ben Stein is a genius.  Not only that, but liberals can’t help themselves proving him right.

A Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Democrat

Based on Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican by John Gray

Joe gets up at noon to open a can of coke. Ahh, there’s nothing like a jolt of caffeine early in the morning…errrr…noon.  He sits down on his futon and turns on his 60 inch plasma TV he got from Rent-a-Center.  He won’t be going into work today because he doesn’t have a job.  He doesn’t need one.  Joe knows that between unemployment, disability, welfare, and food stamps, he doesn’t need to get a job.  He rakes in more cash from the government than if he had a real job.  Joe’s no fool.

He takes his daily medication (part of his disability claim) with his first swallow of coke. His medication is safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised, and through various lawsuits and socialized medicine outside the U.S., the cost of his meds are over $200 a month, but not for Joe.  Joe’s meds are subsidized by wage earners.  Wage earners, who have a job and go to work every day to pay for Joe’s lifestyle through the government income redistribution program called taxation.

Expelled Exposed Exposes Hypocrits

Wow, Ben Stein hit a nerve with his documentary “Expelled”. So much so that a new website has been created to try and debunk some of the movie’s claims. This webiste is Expelled Exposed.

Expelled Exposed claims: We’ll show you why this movie is not a documentary at all, but anti-science propaganda aimed at creating the appearance of controversy where there is none.

“Not a documentary”, “propaganda”, sound familiar? I guess the left can promote Fahrenheit 911, Sicko, and An Inconvenient Truth as documentaries with controversial science and data, but that’s OK. It brings up questions that need answers (right Dan Rather?). But when leftist doctrine is called into question, it’s propaganda, and not a documentary.

Wow, sucks to be a leftist, doesn’t it. Just one question for Expelled Exposed: How was life created? It had to have a beginning; life isn’t created from nothing…unless…

Truth has no place in Liberaltopia…

Posted on April 20th, 2008 by Dave.
Categories: Total Kaos Radio.

Dennis Prager says that truth does not matter to a liberal (leftist), and I have to agree. CNN posted a story on its website, politaltickerblog. The story is about John McCain’s statement that Hamas supports Barrack Hussein Obama for president.

(CNN) — John McCain’s campaign sent supporters a fundraising e-mail Friday that claims Hamas approves of Democrat Barack Obama’s foreign policy vision, and is hoping for his victory this fall.

“Barack Obama’s foreign policy plans have even won him praise from Hamas leaders,” writes McCain deputy campaign manager Christian Ferry. “Ahmed Yousef, chief political adviser to the Hamas Prime Minister said, ‘We like Mr. Obama and we hope he will win the election. He has a vision to change America.’”

The TRUTH is that Hamas DOES endorse Obama, and you can view the interview with a member of Hamas here at powerlineblog. So, the TRUTH is that Hamas DOES EDORSE Obama. Is it BAD that a terrorist organization endorses a particular candidate for the U.S. presidency? I think so. It basically says that Hamas has something of value to gain if Obama is the next president.

So what kind of reaction would one expect from the lefties? Well, according to comments left at the CNN site, we can glimpse the mindset of lefties regarding unflattering truth. We see several leftist philosophies coming through including: LIES and dirty campaign tricks, so what everyone loves Obama and wants him to be president to bring peace to the world, terrorists really want a Republican in the White House so they can recruit more terrorists, and the ever-present anti-Semitism that is prevalent on the left.

Here are some examples:

LIES! And dirty campaign tricks

DID NOT NOT JUST TODAY ACCUSE OBAMA OF QUOTING HIS OWN WORDS!!!

BUT MCCAIN IS GOING TO USE AN UNCREDITED SOURCE TO BASH OBAMA

SHAME ON MCBUSH!!!!

OBAMA 08!!!!!!

So what, everyone loves Obama and wants him to be president to bring peace to the world

MaryQuiteContrary April 18th, 2008 6:34 pm ET

Perhaps they feel they would have something in common and could discuss things with Obama.

Get serious folks. The republican fearmongering for the last 8 years has worked.

I’m still for Obama.

Glenn; Delta, PA. April 18th, 2008 5:50 pm ET

Jimmy Carter is meeting with them now. It upsets the status quo on both sides of the fence when people become independent thinkers. I think it’s encouraging that they recognize Obama as someone they could communicate with, even though Obama has stated that he would not meet them now.

American for OBAMA April 18th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

EVERYONE LOVES OBAMA. EVEN EUROPEANS, LATIN AMERICANS, ASIANS, AFRICANS AND AUSTRALIANS CALL FOR OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA.
IT IS TIME TO GET OBAMA INTO THE WHITE HOUSE.

Kenny - Canada April 18th, 2008 5:39 pm ET

Jan…..”EVERY BODY LOVES OBAMA ….” - True

BUT not because he can bring the world together BUT because he will finally leave the rest of the world alone.

MOST of us, including Canada, are tired of your countries superior mentality.

You’ll critisize Hillary Clinton for her lies and attitude of entitlement(which is true I guess). What you all need to realise is the world has been seeing the US in that light long before Bush or Clinton.

HOPEFULLY, you will get a President WE can like.

OBAMA, 08

Hey Kenny-Canada…F&*% YOU! We don’t really give a rat’s ass what Canada wants…deal with it!

Christi April 18th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

Imagine PEACE. Imagine a President who could finally bring some peace to Middle East Peace Talks. If even the terrorists groups are liking Obama - doesn’t this mean the USA will have more cred when acting as mediators?

McCain/Bush/Republicans are full of greed & hate & fear.

It’s a new day… April 18th, 2008 5:24 pm ET

News for you McCain - I’m Canadian and I want Obama too!!!

Heather Seattle, Wa April 18th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

uh, maybe i am simple but perhaps if we had a president that even the “bad guys” liked maybe they would be less inclined to blow the hell out of us and our allies.

Dan , TX April 18th, 2008 5:14 pm ET

I read with interest McCain’s points.

Makes me even more likely to vote for Obama. Sounds like even our enemies respect him.

melikeyhill April 18th, 2008 4:46 pm ET

John mccain we want a president the whole world loves

No McCain April 18th, 2008 4:27 pm ET

Hey McCain….. let me give you news….EVERYONE WANTS OBAMA!!! Our friends and our enemies … everyone….

Get Real April 18th, 2008 4:50 pm ET

I guess what’s wrong with endorsements from people like Farrakan and Hamas? These endorsements are for free and give us a good reputation around the world. It would be quite difficult for Al Qaida to recruit people against us, when Hamas has sung praises on our president. And it’s all for free. Obama condemned them. That’s the beauty of Obama. We get all the credit from around the world without having to give up a thing. With Bush and the Republicans, we divert billions away from our schools into Iraq, and only get the blame around the world.

Terrorists really want a Republican in the White House so they can recruit more terrorists

LeMonton, currently in Texas April 18th, 2008 5:51 pm ET

Oooooh!……This is a typical case of reverse psychology and John McCain and his people are so desperate for a silver bullet, that they just ate it BIG TIME!

Let’s use a microscopically amount of brain to realize that Al-Queda prefers the Bush administration to continue. The longer George Bush, Dick Cheney and Condi Rice keep their influence in the White House (through their proxy John McCain), the longer the policies that have made the world hate the U.S. will continue, making it easier for Al-Queda and others to recruit and market their efforts.

So, Bin Laden really wants McCain to win to keep the hate against us alive and the best way to do it is to say they love democrats. With Obama (or Hillary) in the White House, the U.S. has better chances to improve its image, which would be a blow to terrorists as they depend on the hate against us to advance their cause.

So if you really want to defeat terrorists, is by voting straight democrat in 2008!

Kate in TX April 18th, 2008 5:42 pm ET

Seriously? If I recall correctly, Osama Bin Laden gave the same sort of endorsement to President Bush before the 2004 election. Does anyone really think we ought to let our enemies decide our president? And heaven help us if they caught on…something about a rabbit and a briar patch leaps to mind.

Shawna April 18th, 2008 5:44 pm ET

If hamas is supporting any candidate it would be John McCain and Bush, who have systematically strengthened the radical islamic cause. They have emboldened the acts of extremist, and showed them that they can use gorilla tactics to hold off US troops, made Iran (the axis of evil) stronger in the middle east, and distroyed the economic success of the clinton presidency. The entire republican platform is a failure.

The ever-present anti-Semitism that is prevalent on the left (you knew this was coming…)

Ray Ito April 18th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

This is the problem with the Republican party. So what if the enemy praises you?

Let friends and foes praise you.
The idealogical “righteous” position of the Republicans is what has divided the country.
Why must we continue to support only Israel’s interests and not the Arabs also? Are they not God’s children?

The Jewish people will never do anything to help you or your community. They won’t eat your food, contibute to your charity and help your neighborhood but America is all about “support” the Jews.
This gotto STOP.

Then of course, since CNN is a leftwing site, you have your PSYCHOS:

ts True April 18th, 2008 5:41 pm ET

I’m going to personally make sure McCain does not win the election.

Walt April 18th, 2008 5:56 pm ET

Please continue with your swift boat neo con attacks McCain. Let me ask you a question tough guy: “Do you feel lucky?!? Well do ya?”
Just try it, Mr Keating 5, lobbyist seducing, economic scholar, war monger. Just try it… Please.

That’s an example of the left’s tolerance…

CLULESS:

Dennis April 18th, 2008 5:33 pm ET

I’ve been reading posts from different sites for some time. Can those of you who say electing Obama will be very dangerous for this country tell us WHY? How bout making a solid argument as to why?

Dude, if you can’t see and understand it, you NEVER will. So just go about your pathetic little life and let the grownups take care of the country.

MARXIST:

Gee barry April 18th, 2008 5:17 pm ET

I think we should take away the money that most republicans have
accumulated by going offshore for cheap labor in a lot
of industries and put them back out there in the workforce to start over today at $8.00 an hour.

And they’d still be making more than you…”Would you like fries with that?”

AND LAZYASS ENTITLEMENTALISTS:

Tell the truth April 18th, 2008 4:33 pm ET

I wanted Obama to. He address my needs, which are my payckeck, bank account, taxes, gas price, healt care. All the things McCain seems to be out of touch on. Vote with facts not your heart.

GET YOUR HANDS OUT OF MY POCKET!

Was there any evidence of logical thought or argument here? Of course not. Being a lefty means never having to think.

This is all you need to know about the thinking from the “scientists” that claim there is a scientific “consensus” regarding global warming/climate change:

The World Meteorological Organisation insists that this year’s (2008) cooling has nothing to do with global climate change.

Earth Hour 2008

Posted on March 29th, 2008 by Glen.
Categories: Total Kaos Radio, Global Warming.

Listen up people, the most important day of this calender year is upon us. For today is the day we get “Earth Hour 2008″. The day you can, “join millions of people around the world in making a statement about climate change by turning off your lights…”

How nice…darkness. Like in the good old days. Before the combustion engine, natural gas furnaces, air conditioning. Just sweet carbon-free enviro-friendly darkness.

It seems to me that this is just where the environmental wackos would want us all to be. In darkness.

In reality though, the hatred for a people’s free use of energy is their “statement about…turning off the lights”. They long to control our energy use. Through taxation, intimidation, guilt.

The Global Warming hysteria is simply an attack on freedom and the Capitalist system. That is what needs to be lit up. The truth behind the fear.

For the hysterics, it is better to keep people in the dark about such things as the un-forecast cooling of the oceansSunspot cycle’s influence on weather. Or that of cosmic rays.  The fact that, “The ice between Canada and southwestern Greenland has reached its highest level in 15 years.”. Or that there has been no warming since 1998. In fact, 2007 was the coldest in Canada in 15 years.

Could this be the beginning of an Ice Age?

I, for one, am not willing to take that chance. So I intend to turn on every light in my house this evening. Every electronic piece of equipment I own. I’ll start my car. Turn the furnace up to 85. The A/C down to 50. I’ll light the burners on my stove and crank up the oven. All for the good of the planet.

Join me, won’t you, for “Earth Hour 2008″. The day we make our own “statement about climate change” and stop the dreaded Global Cooling.

The Children Will Have to Wait

Posted on March 15th, 2008 by Glen.
Categories: Total Kaos Radio, Society.

As a liberty loving individual there is no phrase that frightens me more than “for the children”. That phrase seems always to follow a personal freedom I am expected to cede to some governmental body at one level or another. The only other term that maybe comes close is “global warming” and even that is sold as doing something in order to save the planet “for the children”.
Well, in this climate of hyper identity politics I have decided to fight back. And I know just how to do it. It is high time we “middle aged white guys” get down for the struggle and begin to fight back. Yes, I believe this is the perfect opportunity for me and my fellow pale graying patriarchs to begin to speak truth to power. The “middle aged white guy” will be heard!

With that in mind…

It took nearly two hours for the members to elect Pelosi on a 232-202 party-line vote. They stood one by one, many delivering brief remarks along with their votes. “Just as the biblical Esther was called to save the nation, I cast my vote for another woman called for such times as these,” said Rep. Bobby Rush, the Chicago Democrat and former Black Panther. Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-Calif.) announced her vote for Pelosi was “for the future of all of our “middle aged white guys” and for world peace.”
Pelosi sat in the center right section of the House, surrounded by “middle aged white guys” holding one in a white blanket in her arms. She hugged and squeezed any other “middle aged white guys” who came within range and stood up to kiss a steady stream of well-wishers, including Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-Md.), former Colorado representative Pat Schroeder and former transportation secretary Norman Mineta.

Yes! Finally, one for home team.

After listing a range of other social injustices, such as the 13 million “middle aged white guys” who he said go to sleep hungry at night and the 45 million individuals earning under $10.50/hour and living without health insurance, Nader repeatedly implored the audience to consider its reactions.

Amen brother, been there, my wife won’t let me eat after 7:00 PM, I go to bed hungry every night.

Sexuality is still a very taboo subject in our society,” she said. “’Middle aged white guys’ tell us that they can’t make decisions in the dark and that adults aren’t properly preparing them to make responsible decisions.”
Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, said the study shows that “the national policy of promoting abstinence-only programs is a $1.5 billion failure, and “middle aged white guys” are paying the real price.

That reminds me, I’m running low on Cialis.

In an effort to shield “middle aged white guys” from secondhand smoke, the Kennesaw City Council passed a measure this week to ban smoking in city parks, making it only the second city in the state to make smoking illegal in such public spaces…The Kennesaw ban grew out of citizens’ concerns that “middle aged white guys” were being exposed to secondhand smoke at parks where they play sports, Taylor said. “I feel like it’s an ordinance that is just keeping with what the Georgia Legislature passed,” said Kennesaw attorney Fred Bentley Jr. “There will be places provided for smoking.”
The Douglasville ban is more restrictive, forbidding smoking in all park property. “We want to promote a healthy lifestyle and set a good example for the “middle age white guy”,” said Kevin Teate, Douglasville’s deputy director of parks and recreation.
“Hopefully, other folks will follow our lead,” he said.

Thank the Lord for local bureaucrats, they’ve saved me from myself once again.

Barack Obama is a committed advocate for “middle aged white guys”. He will make sure that every “middle aged white guy” has health insurance, expand educational opportunities for low-income “middle aged white guys”, extend resources for low-income families, support and supplement our struggling foster care system, and protect “middle aged white guys” from violence and neglect.

Thank you, Barack, thank you. Ooh…I’m…feeling…a…little…dizzy…

Global Warming is likely to disproportionately harm the health of “middle aged white guys”…There’s evidence that “middle aged white guys” are likely to suffer more…says the report’s lead author, Katherine Shea, a pediatrician and adjunct public health professor at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill…”This is not a political issue, it’s a public health issue,” Shea says. “If we know the health of “middle aged white guys” and future “middle aged white guys” is threatened, we have an obligation to act.

She cares, she really cares. I’m feeling warm all over. Uh oh, it’s starting already.

Get the point? Well if you didn’t, here it is, a little more pointed.
There are 70 million plus baby boomers in the United States alone. Somehow, without the aid of do-something activists, millions of us miraculously survived. We survived second hand smoke, no car seats, no bicycle helmets, alternating temperatures, an unpeaceful planet, missed meals, monkey bars, and too many other dangers to numerous to mention. Must have been just dumb luck, I guess. That, or maybe America is not as dangerous a place for children as politicians and activists would like us to believe.
American liberty has survived great peril and great evil. A bloody revolution, a brutal civil war, two devastating World Wars, the menace of Communism, economic depressions and recessions, assassinations, and racial strife. Powerful forces, all.
How ironic it is, that in the hands of a few politicians and activists, “the children” may finally do what so many others could not.
